Posted by Anonymous | Posted in | Posted on 11:12 AM

In this week GRACE lesson work load was distributed by our leader which is Yifan. I was in charge of finding facts about global warming. The facts would then be placed on the cards.

This is my idea of the card game:

Set-up:
There will be 2 decks of card 1 deck consisting of 51 cards.
The decks of card will be shuffled separately.
There must be at least 4 players to play this game

Gameplay:
Each player will have to pick 10 card from each deck of cards.
Each player will have 20 cards in hand
There are questions on 1 of the decks of cards while the other deck of cards will have the answer for the questions.

Players Turn:
At a players turn they are allowed to match any amount of questions to the facts they have in their hand.
If they do not have a match they will have to pick a card from another persons hand.
There may be multiple questions and answer.
The person who finish matching all their cards first wins.
If they do not have a match and do not want to pick a card from anothers person hand they will have to take it from the deck.
But if they take a card from the deck that says "LOSE" the person loses the game.

For this week's GRACE lesson , we have different jobs to handle , Me and Yifan will be finding pictures about global warming while Wenyu and Kwanyang will find facts about global warming . We were each told to think of individual game set-ups and this is my idea of the card game

-Set up
-Cards will be shuffled and each player will be distributed 2 cards
- Players will see their respective cards and no partnering is allowed
-Game
-5 cards will be opened onto the ''field''
-Each card will contain different facts about effects of global warming , deforestation and natural disasters
-If you have facts on any of the above , put the card down
-It will continue as you draw another card

-Fault
-If you place the wrong facts , that card will be placed into your ''DISPOSE'' field
-Game will continue
-The 5 cards will be disposed and 5 new cards will be opened
-You will draw another card
-To win in this game , make as little mistakes as you can
-This game will be testing you on your knowledge of the facts
-At the end of the game , the ''umpire'' will count how many mistakes you have made
-The person with lesser mistakes will win

-Recommended card amount
-54 cards

-Different type of cards
-2 different type
1. Fact card
2. Topic card (Global warming , deforestation , earthquake )

For this week's GRACE lesson, Yi fan distributed the work. I am in charge of finding facts about global warming with Wen Yu and estimates that we could finish compiling the work by the next GRACE lesson.

This is my idea of the card game.

Set-up
-the card games would be like poker cards
-there would be 56 cards in a deck
-It would be separated into different 4 categories (each category with a different symbol)
-Then each category would have 13 numbers in it just like normal poker cards

There will be no specific type of game so that the players could choose any type of games they want to play.
However, if our team would choose my idea we have to change our target group to teenagers and adults.

For this week's GRACE lesson, we distributed the jobs. Ziping and I are going to find pictures about Global Warming, Deforestation, etc. Wen Yu and Kwan Yang would be finding facts about Global Warming.

We are still discussing about the rules of the game. I would like everyone to contribute some game rules. I had made up a game rule.

Yi Fan's game rule:

SETUP
-A deck of game cards would be placed in the middle of the game. It would be called ''DECK''.
-The deck would be shuffled.
-Each player draw 4 cards. The cards would be called ''CARD''. Players are not allowed to reveal their cards to other players.
-The person suggested playing this game will be the starting player. However, for subsequent games, the player who lost in the previous game will be the new starting player.

PLAYER'S TURN ACTIONS
-During a player's turn, he/she will have to carry out the followings actions:
1. Play a card. The card should be placed faced down.
2. Draw new card(s) to top-up his hand to a maximum of 4 cards.

PLAYING A CARD
Players may play a EARTH, WATER, or ICE element card from their hand. Earth would win Ice, Ice would win Water, and Water would win Earth.

Each element card would have a number printed on it. The number is the ''POWER'' of the card. A higher Power would win a smaller Power if the cards played are of the same element.

The cards would be in different colours which would affect the game. Some of the cards have special abilities.

WINNING A ROUND
To win a round, a player needs to:
1. Win the opponent's element. Earth wins Ice, Ice wins Water, and Water wins Earth.
2. If the elements are the same, the card with the higher Power wins.

If a player wins that round, the card that he/she played would be kept at his/her ''COLLECTIONS''. The opponent's card would be placed in the ''DISCARD PILE''

If it is a tie (meaning that the element and Power of the cards are the same), no one wins for that round.

WINNING THE GAME
To win the whole game, a player needs to:
1. Collect all 3 different elements of 3 different colours.
2. Collect all 3 same elements of 3 different colours.
3. Collect all 3 different elements of 3 same colours.
4. The Cards in the Deck are used up. The player with the most number of cards in his/her Collections wins. If it is a tie, the player with the most number of Earth element cards win, followed by Water, then Ice.
